Eagle Project Location: Proving Grounds Park in Dubuque, Iowa
Eagle Project Description: Jacob built an information kiosk, a new gate (to keep out car traffic) and a sign with the Proving Grounds Park name on it for the Dubuque County Conservation. The new park is located north of Dubuque on land donated by Deere & Co. The project also included in the kiosk a map of where they might go in the park and some history.
What does being an Eagle Scout mean to you? Being an Eagle Scout gives me a sense of honor and accomplishment.
How did earning the rank prepare you for the future? It put me above people, not in the bad way. It makes me stand out more, it grants me more opportunities.
What advice would you give to younger Scouts who aspire to become Eagle Scouts? It may suck, and you may never think you’ll get there, but that’s not an excuse to give up.
