High Adventure

The Northeast Iowa Council has an active High Adventure Committee that helps Scouts and troops participate in trips of a lifetime through Scouting BSA High Adventure opportunities.

The NEIC High Adventure Committee is available to make presentations to your unit.  We need to know your preferred meeting date and time, the length of time you have for us at the meeting and the subject(s) you would like us to cover.  To schedule a presentation with the NEIC High Adventure Committee email NEICHighAdventure@Scouting.org or Tim Park at timpark@timpark.us

The High Adventure Committee is dedicated to promoting high-adventure programs in all NEIC units. The High Adventure Committee is responsible for:

  • Providing information and assistance to NEIC youth and adults on High Adventure program opportunities with vacancies and recent news, including training opportunities
  • Conducting planning, logistics and training for expeditions to National High Adventure bases and the National Jamboree with contingent crews from our Council. (A contingent crew is made up of Scouts from various units.)

The Northeast Iowa Council has had Scouts and adults attend each of the National High Adventure bases and we can share information, tips, tricks and always good stories about them.

If you have a group of between 7 and 12 Scouts and adults interested in attending one or more of the bases, let us know and we will work with you to coordinate a trip.  Please note that standard reservations are made two years prior to desired attendance.
