Camp C.S. Klaus Staff

By following our mission, the Northeast Iowa Council strives to make Camp Klaus a great experience for Scouts and Cub Scouts of all ages. Our acclaimed staff offers an exciting and educational program, as well as merit badges and rank advancement. Programs of various lengths are offered for Cub Scouts ranging from a day out with mom and dad, or a full weekend of camping, while Scouts BSA members join us for a week long adventure.

Camp C.S. Klaus is situated on a 200 acre wooded valley, located near Colesburg, Iowa. The camp is home to a beautiful lake, natural waterfalls, 40 foot climbing tower, newly constructed COPE course, and trails for all ability levels. With its eight camp sites, platform tents, private showers, and dining hall, Camp Klaus provides a comfortable yet adventurous camping experience of both the youth and adults we serve.

The most meaningful experience I have had in Scouting is … staffing at camp. Staffing at camp has allowed me to grow in knowledge and life skills. Due to my area I grew a stronger knowledge of STEM and also cause of what I taught I improved in my communication skills. By being a staffer, I was able to improve how I interact with people and extend the people I know. It allowed me to meet a bunch of new people and get close to people that I would likely have never have talked to otherwise"
