Eagle Project Location: City Park in Monona, Iowa
Eagle Project Description: Ty designed and constructed a 2-tiered garden behind the bathrooms at the Monona City Park. The area was cleared, border was set, barrier put down and wood chips spread on top, and flowers planted in the garden.
What does being an Eagle Scout mean to you?
Being an Eagle Scout to me describes the essence of leadership, responsibility, and hard work. To me, being an Eagle Scout means that the person is kind, selfless, and courteous towards others.
How did earning the rank prepare you for the future?
Earning this rank has prepared me for more job opportunities and has given me a boost in motivation to achieve my educational and career goals.
What advice would you give to younger Scouts who aspire to become Eagle Scouts?
One piece of advice I would give to Scouts is to find ways to motivate and push yourself forward. One way to do this is to always keep your goals in mind. Ask yourself – why do I want to become an Eagle Scout.

One of my favorite Scouting memories was teaching younger Scouts the programming merit badge – ultimately being an instructor for the first time.
