Amy Kirman Volunteer Spotlight

The Northeast Iowa Council is pleased to honor Amy Kirman as a Spotlight Volunteer! Amy currently serves as the Popcorn Kernel and Committee Member for Troop 7. She has been involved in Scouting for nine years.

Amy has two sons, Alex and Jack.  Outside of Scouting Amy is a physical education teacher and active with St. Joseph the Worker Church. In her free time, Amy enjoys her children’s activities, camping and being outdoors.

What motivates you to give your time to Scouting?
Time spent with my son, Jack.

What aspects of Scouting do you enjoy the most?
Troop activities and camping

What have you learned through Scouting?
Scouting pushed me outside of my comfort zone. It teach youth and adults life skills!

What advice can you give to new Scouting parents?
Get involved…there are so many ways to become active with Scouts and it’s a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your children!
