Eagle Scout – Ethan Hoefler

Eagle Project Location: VFW Club in New Vienna, Iowa

Eagle Project Description: Ethan landscaped the sides of the VFW Club in New Vienna by adding 6 inches of red rock with 5 day lilies. He replaced the carpet on the front steps, removed and replaced shrubs and plants along the outside wall and redid the concrete slab around the large tree and replaced the weed fabric and rock around the trees. He also painted the lower border of the VFW. He added edging and rock around the VFW sign and a soldier statue to round out his project.

What is your proudest achievement on your path to becoming an Eagle Scout? All of the things I’ve learned and all of the great people I’ve met throughout my Scouting journey.

How did earning the rank prepare you for the future? It taught me the rewarding nature of hard work.

What advice would you give to younger Scouts who aspire to become Eagle Scouts? Being an Eagle Scout isn’t the only part of Scouts. While it is undoubtedly a very important step in the Scouting experience, Scouts has so much more to offer.
