The Northeast Iowa Council was first chartered as a council in 1917.
Originally, the council was chartered as a “first class” council and named the Dubuque Council. At the time, a first class council was one that had a paid executive. Prior to this time, troops existed in many cities that are now served by the Northeast Iowa Council. These troops chartered directly with the National office.
The Council Service Center sells two council history books created by Council Historian, Paul Lewis. The books take you through 1910 to 2020.
