The Northeast Iowa Council is pleased to honor Anna Wilkes as a Spotlight Volunteer! Anna currently serves as the Popcorn Kernel and Assistant Den Leader for Webelos and Arrow of Light. She has been involved in Scouting for four years.
Anna and her husband, Jeff have two Cub Scouts (Thomas and Theodore) and three wonderful cats. Outside of Scouting Anna is a rural mail carrier in Waukon and the president of PSST. In her free time, Anna enjoys travelling with her family.
What motivates you to give your time to Scouting?
Why not give time to Scouting? The leaders in our Pack are very open, friendly and welcoming. If everyone volunteers a little time, it will go along way for the Pack and more hands is always a good thing.
What aspects of Scouting do you enjoy the most?
What I like best about my Scouting experience is the Pack 64 group.
What have you learned through Scouting?
I found friends, I had not expected. Put yourself and your family out there, you will find your family will become a larger part of your community.
What advice can you give to new Scouting parents?
You and your child(ren) can get out of Scouting what your willing to put into it. Joining Scouts will broaden horizons for the whole family. Don’t be afraid to be a part of Scouts instead of sitting on the sidelines.
Please share a favorite Scouting memory.
My favorite Scouting memory is my first overnight camping with my boys at Camp Klaus the summer of 2022.
On behalf of the Northeast Iowa Council, please help us say thank you to a very dedicated Scouter, Anna Wilkes!
