What motivates you to give your time to Scouting?
I enjoy working with children, and seeing them grasp what they have been working on. It is that “ah-ha” moment. I also enjoy seeing the Scouts build character and grow into their own person.

What aspects of Scouting do you enjoy the most?
The aspect of Scouting that I enjoy the most is that it is a family activity. As a Scout family, we spend time learning and experiencing new things together.

What have you learned through Scouting?
It is a lot of work, but in the end it is all for the Scouts.

What advice can you give to new Scouting parents?
Enjoy the time Scouting with your Scout(s). As a parent, I have experienced new things, enjoyed spending time with my children in Scouts, and have met new people.

Please share a favorite Scouting memory.
My favorite Scouting memory was when my oldest son crossed over to the Troop. This spring I am looking forward to seeing my other son cross over to the Troop.

On behalf of the Northeast Iowa Council, please help us say thank you to a very dedicated Scouter, Carrie Kocourek!
