What motivates you to give your time to Scouting?
Seeing the enjoyment that the Scouts get when they learn new skills or when they use tools for the first time. That look of “I can do this” is worth it every time.
What aspects of Scouting do you enjoy the most?
I like that Scouting teaches us skills that we can take with us and use for the rest of our lives, not just learn it once to pass a test and forget it.
What have you learned through Scouting?
Don’t give up. Do your best.
What advice can you give to new Scouting parents?
Don’t just drop your Scouts off at meetings, get involved. Not only will they get more out of it, but you will get to experience new things together.
Please share a favorite Scouting memory.
Watching my son figure out how to use a bow at the archery range. At first, he was frustrated but when it clicked the look on his face was well worth it.
On behalf of the Northeast Iowa Council, please help us say thank you to a very dedicated Scouter, Dustin Staade!
