Eagle Scout Nicholas Stavroplus

Troop: 32

Eagle Project Location: Driftless Area Wetland Center in Marquette, Iowa

Eagle Project Description: Nicholas raised a 17ft flagpole and landscaping at the Driftless Area Wetland Center. The pole provided easier sight of the location of the building, producing an influx of tourists. The area was cleared, concrete poured to set the flagpole, and garden planted around the flagpole.

What does being an Eagle Scout mean to you? Being an Eagle Scout is an honor which has prepared me for my future endeavors. It has also assisted me in becoming a better man for my future relationships.

If you had to describe your entire Scouting experience with just one word, what word would you choose? Why? Joyful. Not a moment of my journey has been bad even when the trail seemed hard or it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I will cherish it forever.

How did earning the rank prepare you for the future? Earning the Eagle Scout rank prepared me for the future because my future careers need me to be a leader as well.

By doing your Eagle Service Project, what did you learn about managing or leading people? I learned that time management is VERY important. Ensuring you have a full crew which can do the work needed is the only way to ensure the project will get done.

What advice would you give to younger Scouts who aspire to become Eagle Scouts? My advice is to stay focused on the grind. Set goals, get it done as it might seem small now, but later in life it will assist you in jobs, school, and so much more.

Please share a favorite Scouting memory. My favorite memory is being a CIT and staying up all nights playing PS4. As well as that night’s campfire participating in skits and fun.
