The Northeast Iowa Council is pleased to honor Kristen Thompson as a Spotlight Volunteer! Kristen currently serves as the Webelos Den Leader, Committee Chair, Assistant Cubmaster, and Popcorn Kernel for Pack 53. She has been involved in Scouting for five years.
Kristen and her husband Michael are proud of their child Everett. Three cats also roam their home. Outside of Scouting Kristen is an Associate professor of Engineering and a member of the Society of Women Engineers. In her free time, Kristen enjoys shop work, crafts, and reading.
What motivates you to give your time to Scouting?
Enrichment for son.
What aspects of Scouting do you enjoy the most?
Being outside and enjoying creation.
What advice can you give to new Scouting parents?
Dive in and help out. It is very rewarding. If you are the leader, you get to pick the direction.
