Pete Seitz and Dave Scofield – Volunteer Spotlight of the Month – December 2016
The Northeast Iowa Council is fortunate to have many great volunteers! Some are seen frequently by our Scouting families at camp or unit meetings. There are also many wonderful volunteers who help with more “behind the scenes” projects. These volunteers are just as vital to the success of Scouting. This month’s volunteer spotlight is shared by Cascade’s Troop 29 Pete Seitz and Peosta’s Troop 5 Dave Scofield.
Pete lives in Cascade with his wife Joan and their children. Joan is also an adult volunteer in the Scouting program in Cascade. Pete has been with the Scouting program for a number of years and is fully Scouter trained. Pete also volunteers with Cascade Elementary, Cascade High School, Cascade’s New City Park and Cascade’s Sportsman Park.
Dave lives in Peosta with his wife Linda and their son. Linda is also an adult volunteer in the Scouting program in Peosta. Dave has been with the Scouting Program since 2010 and is fully Scouter and Woodbadge Trained. Dave has earned the William D. Boyce Organizer Award and Scouting Spirit Award.
Pete, Dave, and their Troops stepped up and delivered a great 2016 Dubuque District Fall Camporee! These two put in a lot of time getting ready for the Fall Camporee on short notice. The theme for the Camporee was “Back to the Basics” and they organized the entire weekend with activities based on the theme. It was a great weekend for the district and our Scouts thanks to Pete, Dave and their Troops.
Our 2016 Popcorn distribution was a great success! To no one’s surprise Pete, Dave and their units stepped up in a big way Saturday morning and helped every unit count, sort and distribute all the popcorn in the warehouse. Two huge fall Scouting activities within weeks of each other were successful; Pete and Dave are to thank for that!
Please help us congratulate Pete Seitz and Dave Scofield for being selected for this month’s volunteer spotlight!
