Roger Westemeier Volunteer Spotlight

The Northeast Iowa Council is pleased to honor Roger Westemeier as a Spotlight Volunteer! Roger currently serves as the committee chair for Troop 60. He has served in many roles in his 54 years of Scout leadership including Assistant District Commissioner, Camp Staff, Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, Webelos Leader, Roundtable Staff, training staff, and he has completed Wood Badge Training.

Roger and his wife Judy have three sons. One of those sons is an Assistant Scoutmaster in Little Canada.  Outside of Scouting Roger is retired from John Deere, and is active in the American Legion and Bear Creek Woodcarvers Club. In his free time, Roger enjoys fishing and being outdoors.

What motivates you to give your time to Scouting?
I wanted to see others have the great experience that I had in Scouting

What aspects of Scouting do you enjoy the most?
The outdoors.

What advice can you give to new Scouting parents?
Support and encourage their sons and daughters to stay involved and to get everything they can from the program.
